Nomad (2002) 1) Electric appliances. 2) Conceptual models for design exploration and exhibition. 3) The set of appliances we called Nomad are designed to migrate from the kitchen to the dining table or living room/ Rather than leaving your guest or faily to go to the kitchen and prepare coffee, tea or toast, the act of preperation is shifted from the kitchen to the social center. An electric plate serves as the power connection and can be placed in an elegant way on the table. The different appliances are designed with a common design language. The outside enclosure is made of ceramics, to emanate a sense of quality and create a link to the tableware. The electric kettle is reiniscent of the calssic teapot. The "Vase" is a new product that has a thermoelectric, solid state cooling technology, based on the Peltier effect. It serves as a jug for cold juices and can also function as a vase for flowers, keeping them cold to last longer. The toaster has an integrated smoke detector that is fool proff in preventing toast burning. 5) Elisha Tal, Eyal Cremer and Danny Lavie
